Targ Węglowy is located between the main thoroughfare of Waly Jagiellońskie Street and the most famous street of Gdansk – Dluga Street. The place where today’s Coal Market is located was granted to the City by privilege in 1342. Since the fifteenth century the square was used for coal trade. Currently, it is still used as a large car park. Periodically it is a place of events and concerts (pavilions of the Dominican Fair, festivals, concerts).
