Green Gate
probably the oldest water gate in Gdañsk. The Green Gate is the first example in Gdañsk of Dutch Mannerism, a style which gave the city its characteristic beauty. Small-sized bricks, never seen before in the building of Gdansk, were used to build the gate. They were called Dutch because they were brought as ballast in the holds of ships from Amsterdam.
